WoW Shaman Leveling Guide– The Ones in Touch With
Spirits
In the World of Warcraft, Shamans are a famous class of hybrids. For a long time this amazing class was attached
to the Horde side while the Paladin class was specific for the Alliance side.
However, this has changed since the release of the Burning Crusade and Shamans also became available to the
Alliance players with the Draenei race.
Resembling the Druid class, Shamans can also drastically change their spec to Casters, Healers and Melee damage
dealers. Their talent build will depend on a talent tree you choose – Enhancement, Elemental or
Restoration.
If you prefer a dps caster that can own a damage meter, the Elemental talent build would be perfect for your
Shaman. In order to be good, you will need to gather gear that has a lot of spell power and crit, haste and hit
rating.
With the talent points in the Enhancement tree, your Shaman will be a great melee damage dealer.
The Enhancement build will also require you to have adequate gear that has a lot of Agility, hit, crit and
haste. A special ability granted to all Enhancement Shamans is the ability to summon two ghost wolves which will
help a Shaman in a fight against any enemy. These wolves come in handy especially while playing PvP.
Elemental Shaman Tutorial
A Restoration Shaman is considered to be a great healer. His heals are mostly single target spells and he also
has a chain heal which can heal multiple targets. Resto Shaman also has his Earth shield, which he can put on
himself or any other friendly target in order to protect them from damage. Shaman healers need a lot of mana
regeneration – mp5 on their gear as well as the spell power.
Shamans are able to wear cloth armor, leather armor and mail armor. As they are leveling they will need to wear
leather but as soon as they get the ability to wear armor made from mail, they should switch. Mail armor is always
better for a Shaman since it’s stronger and has better stats. Mail armor made for Shimmies is rich in stats and it
has intellect, similar to the armor of a Hunter since Shamans are also mana consumers.
If you choose to level up this class, it is suggested to put all your talent points on the Enhancement talent
tree. An Enhancement Shaman doesn’t need as much mana as an Elemental Shaman and therefore he will drink a lot less
which of course, will speed up your leveling. Do not forget to put some points in a special ability - the ghost
wolf form since it will enable you to turn into your ghost wolf instantly!
Shamans are fun to play and what made them especially popular in any type of game play is their ability to
summon totems. A Shammy has totems four different types of totems – Air, Fire, Water and Earth.
The strength of his totems will depend on his build and in any case with the use of totems, a Shammy can boost
his group drastically. However, as he can only use one totem from a certain element, he will be able to have a
total of 4 totems active at the same time.
In general, Shamans are a very curious hybrid class and they are fun to level up and play since they can change
their build as they please and when needed. Be assured that you won’t get bored while playing this class since
there are so many options to choose from.
