A Hunter can be fun to play and he is famous for having a pet with him while the Hunter himself takes out
enemies from a distance.
When you start playing you will have to do it all yourself but once you reach level 10 you will get a quest
which will eventually make you able to tame beasts.
Once you have a pet at your side you will see that leveling a Hunter is a real piece of cake. While you stand
back firing your bullets or arrows your pet tanks the enemy and keeps it at distance which means that you will
hardly get hit.

Next to the tame beasts ability a Hunter can make a lot more nice attacks and as quite a few tricks up his
sleeve. One of these abilities is the ability to place trap which can do quite a bit of damage and freeze or slow a
target. Hunters can only have one trap active at the time but it is great anyway.
Next to traps, the Hunter can Feign Death when it gets too warm under his feet because by doing this, he will
act like dead which makes the enemies turn back to their position.
Basically a Hunter is nice to play when you like to play alone but it must be said that a Hunter is
also a valuable in raids, dungeons and PvP scenarios. Because of the boosts they get through their talent trees and
the traps they can place they are very strong in any situation.
The Hunter’s controllable pet adds to the overall damage and it can also tank or offtank in certain
situations. It’s not all about the pet though when we talk about Hunters, they themselves can deal heavy amounts of
damage and have other abilities that can aid the raid like Misdirect, which is used to misdirect threat to the
tank.
This makes the whole experience a lot easier for tanks, healers and dpsers because they do not have
to keep their eyes on the threat meter. It is understandable that a lot of players wanted to play a Hunter because
they are quite unique and this has created a lot of competition.
It can be a hard task to find a spot in a party or raid from time to time and that is why it is advised to join
a guild so you’ll have an easier time to do some instances. Because of the competition it is nice to be a good
Hunter and that is why you should find a talent build that makes you perform well in groups.
Hunters can choose from three talent trees namely Marksmanship, Survival and Beast Mastery. It is well known by
most that the Beast Mastery talent tree is great for leveling purposes. The Pet gets a lot of nice boosts in this
tree which makes the job a lot easier and the player doesn’t even have to do anything in most cases. As a Beast
Mastery Hunter you will also be able to run faster which can also speed up the leveling a bit.
The Marksmanship talent tree will provide the Hunter with several new attacks which make him do even more
damage. This build is normally chosen by Hunters that like to appear on the top of damage meters.
The Survival talent tree hasn’t always been really good but today it is great for PvP Hunters. Because it gives
the Hunter more survivability and improved traps it’s a nice choice. Besides this a Survival Hunter will also
receive a couple shots that are great for PvP like Explosive Shot and Shatter Shot.
After deciding to play this class, a profession needs to be chosen that fits with the hunters skills. Your best
bet is going to be the combination of skinning and leatherworking since this will enable you to make your own
armor. Another great combination of professions are skinning and mining, as these will enable you to buy weapons
and armor. There are professions that the hunter is not suited to, these include tailoring, enchanting and
alchemy.
The other classes may find these professions very useful, where as the hunter gains no benefit. A middle of the
road profession that can be very useful is herbalism, since you can use this to make your own healing potions.
Until that is, you adopt a pet to aid with melee fighting.
Weapons
The hunter shines at ranged warfare as was mentioned previously. Focus on using just bows and crossbows, until the
ability to use guns has developed. Starting out you are given a basic bow, once you progress through levels you are
able to upgrade and develop your ability. Other ranged weapons can be earned as quests are completed.
