Before the BC and WOTLK expansions have been
released, cooking wasn’t really appreciated compared to other professions. Being one of the secondary professions,
cooking is optional but this doesn’t make it less interesting as a profession and many players nowadays are getting
into it. Click here if you would like to read our WoW Fishing
Guide
Why cooking?
Most of the players who level up cooking do it for many reasons such as fun, achievements, title, to
enhance their performance in raids or just to make some profit. As you can see, with cooking you can do all these
and much more.
A perfect match
While levelling cooking a good advice would be to level up fishing as
you move along. Even though you can reach maximum level in cooking without catching a single fish, at some point it
comes easier with fishing, not to mention that on the long run it will prove
to be very profitable.
Hail to the Chef
The “Chef” title has also become one of the most wanted titles since it isn’t easy to reach it. In order
to complete the achievement Hail to the Chef and receive your title you will need to complete a list of various
achievements. Many of the listed achievements will be based on the Outland and Northrend cooking daily quests and
your knowledge of the recipes from these areas.
During your adventures in the Outlands, cooking dailies were good because you could earn some extra money,
discover new recipes and receive additional food. With the WOTLK expansion, cooks will have a lot of fun while
doing the Dalaran daily cooking quests.
Players of the Alliance need to visit Katherine Lee in the s/w inn (the Silver Enclave), while players of
the Horde need to visit Awilo Lon'gomba (the Sunreaver's Inn). Each day you will be able to get randomly one of the
five different quests: Cheese for Glowergold, Convention at the Legerdemain, Infused Mushroom Meatloaf, Mustard
Dogs! and Sewer Stew.
While doing these daily quests will earn you some extra gold and you will also receive a Dalaran Cooking
Reward and a Small Spice Bag. This bag will contain random gifts such as an extra Dalaran Cooking Reward, Northern
spices and rarely a recipe. There are also special kind of spices you can get in this bag – Old Spices and Baby
Spice. Baby Spices are fun to use since they can alter a player’s size and make him smaller.
With the Dalaran Cooking Rewards you will be able to purchase special kind of recipes for stronger foods.
If you collect 100 you can also obtain a Chef’s hat with the Cooking with Style achievement. This hat will allow
you to cook faster and it is a true reward for a good cook. You can also purchase 10 more Northern spices with one
Dalaran Cooking Reward. Food made from these is the best food in the game and it can be sold for a lot of gold on
the Auction House.
Tips for the dailies
Since you will get a random daily quest each day you should have some things prepared in advance. Most of
the dailies will require you to have some Chilled Meat and a Mustard Dogs! daily will need some Rhino Meat as well.
Make sure you farm these in advance so you are prepared for your daily each day. With all the maths at hand a
cooking daily can be finished in just a few minutes.
40 x [Smoked Bear Meat] – 40 [Bear Meat]
Usually where are bears, there are Wolfes too. Kill those and you can cook [Spiced Wolf Meat], also.
At 75, you have to visit your trainer in order to to learn Journeyman Cooking.
80 – 130
Learn Journeyman Cooking.
Go to Ashenvale, and head to the Zoram Strand, where the sea is (north-west).
[Boiled Clams] – 1 Clam Meat, 1 Refreshing Spring Water – clam meat can be found in Small Barnacled Clam
[Crab Cake] – 1 Crawler Meat, 1 Mild Spices
Alliance players can buy this recipe too, because the Crawlers you will kill drops Crawler Claw too. Don’t sell
the Crawler Claw!
[Cooked Crab Claw] – 1 Crawler Claw, 1 Mild Spices

• 130 – 175
The Raptors will drops [Raptor Flesh] also, don’t sell or destroy them, because you will need those in the next
step of the Cooking guide. 50 x [Curiously Tasty Omelet] – 50 [Raptor Egg], 50 Hot Spices
To get this cooking recipe, you have to complete a quest chain first.

Ravager Egg Roundup
Hellboar, the Other White Meat
Smooth as Butter
325 – 350
You have 3 choices now. I say, farming Talbuk Venison and Clefthoof Meat is a lot easier than the Warped Flesh,
because they are both in Nagrand, but you might need the Warp Burger for raiding.
35 x [Talbuk Steak] – 35 [Talbuk Venison]
35 x [Roasted Clefthoof] – 35 [Clefthoof Meat]
35 x [Warp Burger] – 35 [Warped Flesh]
350 – 450
Go to Northend and learn Cooking Grand Master.
350 – 365
Get the Northern Cooking quest and complete it. It requires 4 Chilled Meat. Completing
this quest will teach you how to create [Northern Stew]
20 x [Northern Stew] – 20 Chilled Meat
365 – 400
The Cooking trainer will teach you a lot of recipes which will go green at 382 skill and gray at 415 skill. Any
of these recipes are good for skilling up Cooking.
I recommend Rhino Dogs. There are a lot of Rhinos around Warsong Hold in Borean Tundra, and they respawn really
quickly.
50 x [Rhino Dogs] – 50 [Rhino Meat]
400 – 425
Every cooking recipe beyond this point will be purchased with [Dalaran Cooking Awards], which
are obtained by completing the daily cooking quest given by Katherine Lee (Alliance) or
Awilo Lon’gomba (Horde). And you’re going to need them and a ton of Northern Spices to level
past 425 skill.
You should cook the recipe that you will use for raiding. Choose one recipe from these, and
make that until you reach 425. The recipes are sold by Derek
Odds (Alliance) and Misensi (Horde).
425 – 450
[Gigantic Feast] or [Small Feast]. Both recipes are sold by the NPCs mentioned above.
This part of the leveling process for fishing can be a bit hard so try and have at least a +75 lure and a +20
fishing pole. Complete a quest called "Rather be fishin" in Shattrath, Lower City for a suitable pole if you cant
find one.
