WOW Mage Talent Guide

Talent tree selection is of great importance to all Mages. Where you allocate your points has a great deal of influence on how well your Mage will perform in both PVE and PVP. Redoing talents can get costly, so spending some time doing research will be worthwhile, allowing you to build your mage correctly from the start. In this Mage Talent Guide, we will look at some of the most common mage builds.

Most Mages should choose a tree to specialize in, along with a secondary tree to put some extra points into. It’s usually not a good idea to spread out your points over different talent trees, and this is especially true for mages. In almost every case, the smart choice is to select a tree to focus on from the outset, and make sure you put the majority of your points in the chosen tree.

1. The Frost Mage

This is probably the most popular build for Mages, with good reason. The frost mage is a formidable build, with the ability to function with less mana burn, coupled with some nice mob-controlling abilities.

Some key frost mage talents are listed below.

  • Improved Frost Bolt - Frost bolt will be one of your main weapons, so max this out early.
  • Icy Shards and Shatter - Anything that increases your damange or critical strike chances is a good thing, and these two talents are ones you should not go without.
  • Arctic Reach - This will make your frost novas more effective by increasing the range.
  • Ice Floes
  • Frost Channeling - This will minimize your downtime.
  • Any 1-point Talent - Icy Veins and Cold Snap are two 1-point talents you should get early on.

2. The Fire Mage

Fire Mages are also popular, especially at lower levels since the DPS is high. However, you should also expect greater downtime since your mana burn rate will be quite high.

Here are some important Fire Mage talents.

  • Incineration
  • Improved Fire Blast - This will help you take down enemies faster by reducing cool down time.
  • Critical Mass
  • Pyromaniac
  • Burnout
  • Ignite
  • Any 1-point Talent

3. The Arcane Mage

Very few players will specialize in the arcane tree. In general, your talent points will serve you better if you use them for the frost or fire tree, so unless you are looking for a special challenge, picking the arcane tree to specialize in would not be a good idea.

An Introduction To The Brian Kopp’s Leveling Guide

Brian Kopp’s leveling guide presents a great opportunity for those who want a level that characters quickly and are tired of the grind. When you level your first character, it is all lot of fun, and the guide is perhaps not the best idea, but when it comes to levelling your second character and onwards, a leveling guide can really make the game seem a lot more fun.

The guide is only focused on Alliance characters but it will focus on all the starting zones four different races available to you. Just as importantly, it also includes detailed leveling strategies for the last expansion packs, including a guide for level 60 to 70 and a guide for levels 70 to 80.

Quests in the old world are still difficult to find and they are spread all over the place and include a lot of travelling. Although the amount of experience needed in order to level to level 60 and go to the Outland has been considerably reduced, it still is a very time consuming grind.

It can also get extremely repetitive, especially if you are levelling your characters but of the same race as you normally play. This guide will take into account all the different starting zones and with absolutely no grinding required in order to level with the guide, you can follow the guide closely and go to the maximum level in minimal time.

Once you get a levels 60, levelling becomes more time consuming although a little easier. Again, this guide will start telling you exactly where to go and which quests to skip. There are many quests out there which are not worth doing if you are interested only in minimising your levelling time.

This guide helps mostly by way of an in game add-on. This add-on has a database of waypoints which point you in the right direction to pick up the right sort of quests. It will tell you any quests that you should skip which means you save time, since doing quests which are not good for levelling quickly are a complete waste of time if that’s what you want.

Instead, the guide focuses using an in game add-on on getting you to find the right quests which offer the best reports. It will tell you which quests to skip and of course where to go them what to reach quest. Anything that seems to require a lot of travelling will also be skipped for example.

This guide only focuses on levelling your character as quickly as possible. If you want to do anything you missed when you reach the level 80, you can come back and do much easier and quicker. I hope this brian kopp’s leveling guide article was helpful for you!

World of Warcraft Grinding Spots

There are two main reasons you may consider grinding in World of Warcraft.

  1. To make some gold. If you are considering grinding for gold, consider gold farming guides to help you determine the best locations.
  2. To get experience and level. In most cases, using a WOW in-game guide will be your best option for leveling, however, some people like grinding away since that is something they can do while watching TV or chatting, and does not require 100% of your focus.

Grinding definitely still has a place in the WOW game. AOE grinding (gathering mobs then killing them using AOE attacks) can particularly deliver good results, allowing players to gain both experience and gold very quickly. However, many people find grinding to be monotonous, and it is definitely not for everyone. If, on the other hand, you have decided that grinding is for you, here are some tips that may be helpful.

  1. Buy the biggest bags you can get your hands on. Since you will be looting tons of mobs, having lots of space in your bags is important unless you want to make frequent trips to vendors and the auction house.
  2. Set your loot options so you auto-loot your corpses. There are a number of ways to do this, but the most simple one is to set it up in your options. Shift-clicking on mobs will also allow you to get all the loot with one click.
  3. By all means, pick skinning as a profession. This cannot be underestimated. Grinding means killing a bunch of mobs, many of which will be skinnable. Most everything you skin will sell well at the auction houses, giving your gold earnings a nice boost.

Here is a list of popular grinding spots.

Levels 12 – 20

Westfall
Darkshore
Loch Modan

Levels 18 – 22

Redridge: Murloc Camp NE and across the lake from Lakeridge.

Levels 22 – 25

Duskwood: Kill wolves and spiders along the West and North.

Levels 26 – 30

Wetlands: Dragonmaw Encampment
Wetlands: Whelgar’s Excavation Site
Duskwood: Raven Hill Cemetary

Levels 30 – 36

Shimmering Flats is a great grinding spot.
Stranglethorn Vale: Kurzen Encampment, Area near/around Nesingwary’s Expedition
Alterac Mountains: Crushridge Ogres

Levels 36 – 40

Stranglethorn Vale: Lashtail Raptors
Arathi Highlands: Boulderfist Outpost

WOW Gold Farming Guide

In this gold farming guide, I will reveal the best locations to farm for gold, depending on how high your character level is.

Despite what many people think, gold farming is not an activity that should be restricted to high level characters. While it’s definitely true that higher level characters will net more gold per hour, many low level characters need gold just as badly in order to upgrade their gear. Gold farming is therefore an activity that is appropriate for any level character in need of some gold.

Here are some favorite spots for gold farming.

Levels 12 – 20

Westfall
Coordinates: Around 32, 32
The Defias Trappers located here respawn pretty fast, and they drop a lot of linen cloth. Sell the cloth at auction houses for some quick gold. It’s not uncommon to get 1g or more per stack, although this will depend on which server you are on.

Herbalism, Skinning, and Mining
Even if these professions don’t fit with your character, they can make you a lot of gold, so they are good choices for gold farmers. You can always change professions later.Whenever you want extra gold, devote an hour to plow through Elwynn Forest, and you should be able to gather enough herbs or mine enough gold to make some nice gold at the auction houses.

Levels 40 – 60

Stranglethorn Vale
Coordinates: Around 44, 45
Crystalvein Mines is a good place to kill mobs and sell their drops to vendors.

Tanaris
Coordinates: Around 72, 44
Head over to Lost Rigger Cove, kill the pirates there for silk and mageweave.

Levels 60 – 80

Winterspring
Coordinates: Around 53, 43
The mobs near the lake drop decent silver and items you can sell.

Felwood
Coordinates: Around 41, 20
Go to Jadefire Run, and kill the mobs there for runecloth.

Eastern Plaguelands
Coordinates: Around 28, 85
The Mossflayer Zombies are relatively easy to kill, and they drop lots of runecloth which can be sold at auction.

These are just some quick ideas on gold farming to help get you started. Players who are more serious about gold farming should consider getting a gold farming guide.

Paladin Talent Guide

There are several builds a Paladin can choose, depending to what role the Paladin wishes to play. Many different combinations are possible, but it is a good idea to spend some time carefully planning out how you will distribute you talent points, as this will spare you from having to redo talents later in the game and having to spend some gold as a result. This Paladin Talent Guide is designed to help you make good choices from the outset as you build your Paladin character.

Most importantly, you should determine the role of your Paladin, since this will determine where best to spend your talent points. Paladins focusing on healing should choose the Holy tree as their primary tree. Tankadins (Paladin Tanks), on the other hand, would select the protection tree. And Paladins focussing on DPS should choose the retribution tree to specialize in.

1. The Holy Paladin

It’s a good idea to throw in a few points into the Holy tree regardless of what kind of Paladin you build. If you’re Paladin’s role is that of a healer, make sure you put plenty of points in this tree.

Important Paladin Talents are Listed Below.

  • Illumination - Because of the improvement in mana efficiency, all Holy Paladins should pick this talent up.

Here are Holy Talents to Consider for PVE.

  • Spiritual Focus
  • Divine Intellect
  • Healing Light
  • Sanctified Light
  • Holy Power
  • Light’s Grace
  • Holy Guidance
  • Divine Illumination
  • Judgements of the Pure
  • Beacon of Light

Here are Holy Talents to Consider for PVE.

  • Spiritual Focus
  • Unyielding Faith
  • Pure of Heart
  • Holy Shock
  • Blessed Life

Start allocating some points to the Protection and Retribution trees as you progress to higher levels.

Make sure you choose talents that improve healing in one way or another, and offer improved mana regeneration.

2. The Protection Paladin

The focus for Paladins specializing in protection is usually on tanking.

Key talents for Paladin Tanks are shown below.

  • Divine Strength
  • Anticipation
  • Toughness
  • Blessing of Kings
  • Improved Devotion Aura
  • Deflection (from the Retribution Tree)
  • Divine Sacrifice
  • Divine Guardian
  • Improved Hammer of Justice
  • Reckoning

3. Retribution Paladin

If dishing out damage is your primary goal, a retribution Paladin is the obvious choice. A well built retribution Paladin can do some serious damage, making for a rather fun character to play.

Key talent choices for retribution Paladins are shown below.

  • Benediction
  • Improved Judgements
  • Conviction
  • Crusade
  • Two-Handed Weapon Specialization
  • Vengeance
  • Sanctified Seals
  • Fanaticism
  • Crusader Strike
  • Divine Strength
  • Fanaticism
  • Heart of the Crusader
  • Sanctified Retribution

The Best World of Warcraft Guides

Today’s Best WOW guides differ greatly from the first guides that were available for World of Warcraft many years ago. In the beginning, guides were delivered as physical books or ebooks, and the user had to switch back and forth between the guide and the game, often slowing down progress significantly and defeating the purpose of the guide, which was supposed to allow players to level their characters much more quickly.

That all changed with the advent of a new kind of guide known as “In-Game” guides. These guides are presented inside the game, utilizing an in-game window that displays the information contained in the guide. In addition, in-game arrows and waypoints display exactly where the player should go next, providing a further means to quest efficiently. By using the latest WOW guides, players have been able to level characters at breakneck speeds that have not seen before.

Upon testing various guides, we found two in-game guides to be standouts, and we will discuss them in this article.

First on our list is Zygor’s Guide, which is an in-game guide with a window displaying quests in the order they should be done as it tracks your progress automatically. Arrows inside the game show you where to go next, and the order of the quests are arranged in a way that will help you finish multiple quests in quick sequence every time you leave town. When using this guide, remember to get the largest bags you can afford because you will be gone from town for long stretches at a time as you knock off the quests. Typically, every time you return to town you will have 3 or 4 quests to turn in, and oftentimes even more. For a full review of this guide, check out the Zygor’s Guide Review page which also provides a link to a free trial.

The second guide we recommend, Dugi’s Ultimate WOW guide, is very similar to Zygor’s guide and has many similar features, such as the quest window that recommends an optimal questing sequence. This guide includes an floating arrow above the player that shows you where to go next. I like this guide since it comes with extras such as a gold guide and pvp guide, but I did find it a bit more buggy than Zygor’s guide. For a full review of this guide, check out the Ultimate WOW Guide Review page which gives you a link to access the first 20 levels of the guide for free.

While using an in-game guide is not necessary, you will find that your leveling speed will increase dramatically. Our testing showed that on average, we were able to level at least twice as fast as we would have under normal game conditions. We also noticed that by using a good in-game guide, enjoyment of the game increased since many of the frustrations of the game went away (such as not being sure where to go next, or where to find the location of a certain quest).

A Review of the Ultimate World of Warcraft Guide

The Ultimate World of Warcraft Guide by Dugi is a top quality gaming guide that gives you the tools you need to level quickly, acquire tons of gold, and raise your PVP playing skills.

This review of the Ultimate WOW Guide examines some of the reasons you might want to choose this guide to elevate your World of Warcraft game.

First, the benefits of the guide are listed below.

  • The guide is an in-game guide, which gives you everything you need inside your game window, eliminating the need to leave your game window to view the guide.
  • The guide comes with a talent guide.
  • Class quests are included.
  • A guide to instances for higher level characters.
  • The guide can be printed, although you will not have to do that since everything you need is conveniently displayed within the game.
  • All leveling is quest-based, making grinding a thing of the past.
  • A gold guide comes included, showing you ways to make up to 500 gold per hour.
  • PVP tactics are covered in an additional guide.
  • An arrow on your screen shows you the direction and distance to your next target.

Now for the things we didn’t care for so much.

  • We did find some parts of the guide to be a bit on the buggy side.
  • Certain steps in the guide were not explained as well as we would have liked. However, this will not be an issue as long as you have some experience and familiarity with the game and its various zones.

Compared to the older guides that were provided as ebooks, the Ultimate WOW Guide is vastly superior. The combination of having in-game information along with arrows and map waypoints will greatly increase how fast you level in the game. All things considered, we believe this guide is a welcome addition that will greatly assist any World of Warcraft gamer in acheiving a new level of success in the game.
